Current Status and Directions of Professional Identity Formation in Medical Education

Professional identity formation (PIF) is an essential concept in professional education. Many scholars have explored conceptual frameworks of PIF and conducted empirical studies to advance understanding the construct medical Despite its importance, it unclear what educational approaches assessment practices are actually implemented education settings. Therefore, we a literature review reporting for learners’ PIF. We searched Web Science database using keywords chose 37 papers analysis based on inclusion exclusion criteria. Thematic was conducted. Most (92%) were from North America Western Europe used qualitative research methods, including mixed methods (99%).
